What we collect when you use this site or start a listing, why we collect it, and who it goes to.
What we collect
What you give us
Name, phone number, email address, property address, and the details you enter about the property when you start a listing. If you open an account: the photographs and documents you upload, and the messages you exchange with agents about an offer.
What the site collects
Standard web server and analytics data such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type. When you sign a document electronically we also record the time, your IP address and your browser, and keep that with the signed document.
Payment details
Card payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store card numbers.
What we do not collect
We do not buy personal data about you from third parties, and we do not sell your information.
Why we use it
To answer your inquiry, to confirm which MLS covers your address, to prepare and perform a listing agreement, and to meet record-keeping obligations that apply to licensed real estate brokers in Michigan.
Who it goes to
If you list with us, property information is published to the MLS and syndicates from there to public portals. That is the point of a listing, and once published it is not something we can retract from every downstream site.
Otherwise information is shared only with the brokerage, with service providers acting on our instructions such as photographers, the payment processor, the sign-in and email services and the company that stores your documents, with a title company when you ask us to get a settlement statement, and with anyone we are legally required to share it with.
Keeping and deleting it
Transaction records are retained for as long as Michigan licensing rules require. Signed documents are kept with that record, along with the certificate showing who signed and when. Inquiries that do not become listings are kept only as long as they are useful, and you can ask us to delete them.
